Valuing the history and tradition of the Portuguese sardine!

This is a very interesting and illustrative visit about the history and tradition of Matosinhos and Portugal when it comes to the production of tinned sardines. This factory stands out for the quality and exclusivity of its products. I highly recommend the visit. I had a lot of fun on the tour, but I really enjoyed the tasting, as the sardines are excellent.

Pleasantly surprised by this marvellous fish and ingredients tour experience!

Amazing tour. I was sceptical too – was it really worth visiting a sardine factory? YES, IT WAS. Such a well-organised experience, and we loved the tasting afterwards. Now we’re big fans of tinned fish!

Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic time, a really fun experience with a great tour guide. The factory is beautiful and we took home lots of souvenirs from the shop. I’d love to do it again with our children!

Such an unusual visit!

This is an excellent tour! Very detailed, extremely thorough and very detailed. Everyone is very friendly, and the sardine tasting is well done and in a pleasant location. Of course, wrapping your own tins was great fun. I recommend it!

Highly recommended!

I don’t give many 5* comments, but this was great. The tour was interesting, funny, interactive and very well done. Even my teenage son enjoyed it! We did the tour in English. The tasting was good and the gift shop was fabulous. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended for a family visit

We turned up without a reservation and the staff at the entrance were very kind to organise a private tour in French almost immediately. I’d recommend booking in advance. Our guide Magali was very kind and informative. Our children (aged 7 to 9) loved the interactive tour. The highlights were the factory tour and tasting. The place is clean and modern, as well as authentic. I would absolutely recommend this tour if you have young children and are in Porto for a few days.

Right at the top of the things I did in Porto

I wasn’t expecting much, but it was a marvellous experience! The museum was super interesting, with interactive bits that were really fun and instructive. And the factory floor tour was a highlight. Make sure you go on a weekday to see how things really work in practice. The tour guide, Miguel, was really great. Perfect mix of serious and joking, and he definitely knew his stuff. And then we finished with a tasting, which was great. One tin per person, bread and butter, which made for a perfect light lunch with a glass of vinho verde! Highly recommended and excellent value for money!
